TORONTO – The team at Running First Ltd. (organizers of the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon, Sporting Life 10k, Toronto 5k and Collingwood Half Marathon) are shocked and saddened with the tragic events that occurred at the Boston Marathon. The senseless acts of violence have marred a day of sport, friendly competition, and runner camaraderie. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the people of Boston, all participants, spectators and their families, the BAA and all first responders.

The GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon, will continue to work closely with Toronto City officials, including police and EMS as well as our organizing committee to plan and execute a safe and enjoyable event for all. We will review our existing emergency preparedness plan to ensure that we can best respond to any situation while ensuring the safety and security of all of our participants and spectators.

Volunteers continue to play an integral role in the success of the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon and we couldn’t do it without you. We ask those interested in volunteering for us to commit to at least 6-8 hours of time. This usually consists of 1 (one) shift and may require a brief orientation/training night prior to the event.
